TY FOR TCAPS

One of the promises we made as a Board was to be transparent about the outcomes we’ve chosen to prioritize—and to report our progress along the way.

At last week’s Curriculum Committee meeting, we reviewed several of our secondary strategic plan goals, including literacy and math outcomes for 8th graders (PSAT) and 11th graders (SAT).

These assessments help us understand whether students are on track for success while allowing us to monitor our progress toward our new 2030 Vision*.

A few of our 2026 outcomes:

Literacy

11th Grade

• All students: 78% (baseline 76%)

• Economically disadvantaged students: 56% (baseline 61%)

• Non-economically disadvantaged students: 83%

8th Grade

• All students: 78% (baseline 77%)

• Economically disadvantaged students: 63% (baseline 65%)

• Non-economically disadvantaged students: 85%

Math

11th Grade

• All students: 50% (baseline 48%)

• Economically disadvantaged students: 38% (baseline 33%)

• Non-economically disadvantaged students: 58%

8th Grade

• All students: 50% (baseline 36%)

• Economically disadvantaged students: 31% (baseline 28%)

• Non-economically disadvantaged students: 57%

These outcomes are a snapshot—not a finish line.

Some of our 2030 goals are within reach.

Others will require significant improvement over the next four years.

And the opportunity gaps between our economically disadvantaged students and their peers remain larger than any of us should be comfortable with.
