Rooted in Relationships: Traverse Heights Shows What School Connectedness Looks Like

Loved seeing this op-ed in last week’s paper from Traverse Heights Principal Bryan Kay and former Traverse Heights PTO President Stephanie Wilson.

Their message is simple and powerful: when families are centered from Day One, students thrive.

Traverse Heights Elementary is building a school year rooted in relationships — from their Great Lakes House System, to Coffee & Connections, to family festivals, to Community Connection Nights, to PTO-supported access to after-school opportunities.

It’s a great example of what happens when schools, families and community move forward together with intention, consistency, and shared purpose.

This is what school connectedness and inclusive excellence — key priorities in our new TCAPS 2030 Vision — look like in action.

Grateful for this work.

Keep awesome, Roadrunners.
